Why Thailand?

In 2018, Thailand started taking steps to legalize medical cannabis and in 2019, became the first Asia-Pacific country to do so. At the time, there were still gaps in legislation, which required more clarification from the Ministry of Public Health.

2022 became the year of further expansion of liberal cannabis policies, constituting full legalization. Cannabis cultivation (under a license from a state agency) and its consumption are now allowed; only certain activities, like consumption in public places, are still prohibited.

Ever since the first steps toward legalization, there have been a number of clinics and offices providing consultations on the use of medical cannabis. Hundreds of specialists can now consult patients and assess the suitability of treatment.
